Welcome to Academic Vocabulary
To support the highest academic success for each student and to ensure that all students have solid academic background knowledge, Region 10 has produced an easily accessible Academic Vocabulary tool for use in the classroom.
There are approximately thirty essential vocabulary words for each content area by grade level. In addition, each vocabulary word is a link to a definition, a graphic, or an example, with item numbers for assessment questions which are housed in WebCCAT. Teachers can facilitate instruction by using the tools to easily organize vocabulary words by grading period.
First-time users of Academic Vocabulary should click on the "Create an Account" link in the upper right corner of this page to create an Academic Vocabulary account and password.
