Region 10 offers numerous professional development opportunities for teachers in a variety of delivery modes. Below are links to the primary delivery modes along with a brief description.
Professional development activities that are open for enrollment for educators from more than a single campus are scheduled through the Region 10 Calendar of Events. Registration for these activities is available online. While many of these activities take place at one of the Region 10 facilities, many are scheduled at central locations throughout the region.
Many professional development activities are scheduled specificly for individual campuses or groups of campuses within a district. These campus-based activities are scheduled through the campus principal; communications and registration are handled internally at the campus level. Campus-based activities are not generally open to enrollment for staff from other campuses, and generally do not appear in the Calendar of Events.
Online Learning Center - Professional Development
Currently available are certification courses addressing required health-care training issues for school district employees, along with courses pertaining to Instructional Technology, Legal Issues, Reading/Language Arts, Gifted Education, and much more. Videoconference-Based Distance Learning Courses
Currently available are Master's degree and Doctorate degree programs in partnership with the University of North Texas and Texas A&M Commerce. Additionally, many of the professional development activities available through the Region 10 Calendar of Events are available via videoconference for the convenience of educators throughout the region.
