In an effort to address the on-going shortage of master’s level speech-language pathologists in the schools, a partnership was formed among the Education Service Centers of Texas, Texas Woman’s University, the Texas Education Agency and local educational entities to provide a master’s degree program for both in-field and out-of-field students.
This program, fully accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, utilizes a combination of videoconferencing and web based instruction as well as clinical experiences on school campuses, in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, rehabilitation centers and special summer camps.
The Cycle 5 graduate program is currently in session. The anticipated graduation date for this cycle is May 2011. More detailed information about the program can be obtained from the Texas Woman's University web page(see link below).
Plans for a sixth cycle of this program are moving forward. Information meetings for Cycle 6 will be held on the following dates: February 18, 2010, April 28, 2010 and September 23, 2010. Please contact the Education Service Center in your area to obtain more detailed information regarding the registration procedures for these meetings. To be considered for the TETN/TWU Speech Pathology Master's Program, all applicants are required to attend one information meeting.
