Substitute Teacher Training Program Substitute Teacher Training - Sub Heading

Skilled substitute teachers are in demand in North Texas and school districts are finding it increasingly difficult to hire and retain significant numbers of qualified substitute teachers. Region 10 Education Service Center now offers Substitute Teacher Training.

This 6-hour interactive training provides instructional techniques, classroom and behavior management strategies and the skills needed for a substitute teacher to succeed in the classroom. Participants will learn how to confidently instruct and address situations they may face in the classroom. Although the training does not guarantee a substitute position with any school district, it is an affordable way for participants in North Texas to gain or improve their substitute teaching skills.

The substitute training workshop is open to anyone interested in becoming a substitute teacher, current substitute teachers, and substitute teachers returning to the field after an absence. All participants must have a high school degree. Workshop cost is $75 per person including the Substitute Teacher Handbook and a companion workbook. Participants will receive a Region 10 ESC certificate upon completion of the training.

A Region 10 website account is needed to register for workshops. If you do not remember your login and/or password, please do not create another one. Contact the help desk for your existing account information via the web, email or call 972-348-1158. If you are certain that you do not have an account you will need to create an account.
